Powerwall 3 is strongest on single-phase homes installing new solar and a battery together, because one unit does the job of a separate solar inverter and battery. It also works on homes that already have solar. The existing inverter and your supply decide how we connect it.

Battery incentives in NSW and federally change through the year. Eligibility for solar battery rebates in NSW and the federal program depends on an accredited installer and an approved product. We confirm what your address and system qualify for and set the amounts out in your written quote.
Powerwall 3 can also join a virtual power plant through participating retailers. A VPP pays for energy drawn from your battery at peak demand, though the battery may hold less in reserve for a blackout. We talk through that trade-off before you sign up.

Yes. If your inverter is in good order, Powerwall 3 is AC-coupled alongside it. If the inverter is near the end of its life, the panels can often be connected straight into Powerwall 3 instead, which we confirm at the site assessment.
Yes, when it is installed with Tesla’s Backup Gateway 2, which switches the home to battery power automatically. Whether that covers the whole home or selected circuits depends on your loads and supply, and on three-phase homes backup covers one phase.
A straightforward installation is usually one day on site. Network approval comes first, and switchboard upgrades can add time, which we tell you about in the quote.

Yes. Up to three Expansion units can be connected to one Powerwall 3, each adding 13.5 kWh. Powerwall 3 cannot be combined with an existing Powerwall 2, so we plan around any older battery on site.
Tesla supplies Powerwall through its certified installer network, and the system has to be installed and registered correctly for the warranty to apply. Rebate eligibility also requires an accredited installer.
