When a storm brings the lines down, a home with a backup battery keeps the fridge, lights and internet running. Clean Earth Solar installs solar batteries across the Central Coast, from Umina Beach and Woy Woy up to Lake Haven and Budgewoi.
We size each battery from your own usage data, check the installation conditions for salt air at your address, and our SAA-accredited electricians fit, commission and set up the monitoring with you.
Each job starts with a look at what is already on your roof and in your switchboard.
If you are starting from scratch, our solar panel installation on the Central Coast quotes panels and storage together.
Every battery we install on the Central Coast is designed and fitted by our own team of SAA-accredited electricians and electrical apprentices, with no subcontractors on site. The person who assesses your home is a trained installer, so the person quoting your job knows exactly how it will be installed.

The Central Coast sits on the Ausgrid network, and its coastline is exposed to the East Coast Lows that bring down trees and power lines. After the April 2015 storms, around 40,000 Central Coast homes and businesses were still without power on 24 April, days after the worst of the weather.
A battery with backup configured keeps your essential circuits running and recharges from the panels each morning until supply returns. Without backup set up, it shuts down with the grid.
Salt spray corrodes battery enclosures and terminals, and manufacturers write their installation rules around it. Sungrow’s SBH manual, for example, rules out sites within 500 metres of the coastline or exposed to sea winds. We check each model’s conditions against your distance from the beach, then choose the battery and a sheltered spot, often the garage, with the clearances required under AS/NZS 5139.
For new panels on beachside roofs, we also check the panel and mounting manufacturers’ coastal conditions before the system is designed.
Plenty of Central Coast households are out all day, driving the M1 or catching the train to Sydney or Newcastle. The panels then export most of their output for a small feed-in credit, and a battery keeps that surplus for the evening.
Shift work changes the picture again, with heavy daytime use some weeks and overnight use in others. We size from your half-hourly interval data so the battery matches the way your household uses power from week to week.
A holiday house that sits empty midweek fills its battery by mid-morning and has little to discharge into. For these homes we usually size for the weekends you are there, plus backup for the fridge, freezer, security cameras and internet while you are away.

Every battery is quoted in writing after a site assessment, and the price depends on a handful of things we check on the day:
Government battery incentives change often, so we confirm what your address qualifies for at quote time and show it on the quote. Our guide to NSW and federal solar battery rebates has the current program details, and the solar battery sizing guide shows how to read your bill before we visit.

Our crews install home batteries right across the Central Coast Council area, including Gosford, Erina, Green Point, Terrigal, Wamberal, Avoca Beach, Copacabana, Kincumber, Woy Woy, Umina Beach, Ettalong Beach, Kariong, Somersby, Narara, Wyoming, Lisarow, Ourimbah, Tuggerah, Berkeley Vale, Bateau Bay, The Entrance, Wyong, Lake Haven, Gorokan, Toukley, Budgewoi, Hamlyn Terrace and Warnervale, plus hinterland acreage around Matcham and Kulnura.
Usually, yes, but the model and location matter. Some batteries, including Sungrow's SBH, are not approved within 500 metres of the coastline, so Clean Earth Solar checks each manufacturer's conditions against your address and picks a sheltered spot such as the garage.
Only if it is installed with backup configured. Most homes back up essential circuits such as the fridge, lights and internet, and we agree those circuits with you before the quote is finalised.
It depends on how often the house is used. A battery on a weekend is mostly about backup and keeping the fridge and security running, so we size it smaller than for a home that is lived in every night.
Yes. The Central Coast is part of our regular service area, and the same in-house electricians who install our Hawkesbury and Sydney systems do the work.
The price depends on battery capacity, your supply type, backup requirements, inverter compatibility and any switchboard work needed. We provide a fixed written quote after assessing your property and system.
